here's the deal
watch it with an open heart. not with expectations of a masterpiece. that expectation of another 'sixth sense' will cloud your vision and make you unable to see the purpose of this movie. it's a BEDTIME STORY. remind yourself that. remind yourself what it was like to listen to a bedtime story or even read one and wanting SO BAD that it was fiction and not a fairy tale. remind yourself of what it was like to be a child of hope and imagination. be rid of the distracting practical thoughts and skepticism.
then and only then can you appreciate this movie for what it is. a fantastic bed time story.
this is not another "the village" or "signs" and def not another "sixth sense" m.night shyamalan dared to dream and write a movie outside of not only the ordinary box but his box as well. this movie was not meant to frighten but rather to leave you with hope.
haha plus i think i know why the movie critics didn't like it... it was a pretty much a slap in the face if you ask me. high five*
